SAN DIMAS REDEVELOPMENT SUCCESSOR AGENCY
The San Dimas Redevelopment Successor Agency Oversight Board was created pursuant to the state law known as ABX1 26 that dissolved the San Dimas Redevelopment Agency, along with all 400 redevelopment agencies in California, on February 12, 2012. The City of San Dimas elected to become the Successor Agency of the former San Dimas Redevelopment Agency effective January 10, 2012. Per ABX1 each Successor Agency will have an Oversight Board to oversee certain fiscal management matters and assets of the former Agency, except for affordable housing. The City, through the San Dimas Housing Division, manages the former Agency’s affordable housing funds and assets.
Responsibilities Jurisdiction and Authority
The Oversight Board has a fiduciary responsibility to the holders of enforceable obligations and the taxing entities that benefit from the distributions of property tax and other revenue. The Oversight Board oversaw the “winding down” process of the San Dimas Redevelopment Agency. In September 2015, Senate Bill No. 107 made changes related to oversight boards and on July 1, 2018, all local Oversight Boards were consolidated into five Consolidated Oversight Boards (COB) organized by supervisorial districts. They will have jurisdiction over the Successor Agencies located within its boundaries. The City of San Dimas is in the Fifth Supervisorial District COB The agency meets on an as-needed basis throughout the year. Contact the Assistant City Manager/Board Secretary Brad McKinney for additional information or questions at (909) 394-6213.
