Elections
This information is intended to provide voters and potential candidates with the resources and contacts needed to navigate through voting in an election or running for office.Voting
Why vote? If you are not registered to vote, you are missing out on exercising your right to vote. Voting is a great privilege and significant personal freedom; it is the most important tool you have to affect change. You may register to vote online or by completing registration to vote by mail form. Mail-in forms are available at the San Dimas City Clerk’s Office, Los Angeles County Public Library San Dimas Branch or any United States Post Office. A Vote by Mail (absentee) Ballot allows you to vote without having to go to your polling place. If you should change your mind before voting your ballot, you may still vote at the polls; take your Vote by Mail Ballot with you and explain to the poll worker that you would like to vote there and surrender the ballot you received in the mail.
You must re-register to vote if you moved, changed your name or wish to change your political party affiliation. It is also a good practice to update your signature periodically with the Registrar Recorder’s Office. The deadline to re-register is 15 days before the next election. Need to register to vote, not sure if you are registered or need other voter information, visit the web pages of the Los Angeles County Registrar Recorders or the Secretary of State webpages.
